It’s Compass Report time again, our annual look at the affordability of the most popular travel destinations for Canadians. We analyzed more than 11.5 million searches from the last 12 months on Cheapflights.ca to help Canadian travellers see how their favourite spots stack up and where they can head for added savings. Our national rankings show how the 101 most popular spots, determined by searches from six departure points across the country, compare on price but, to give Vancouverites an added leg up, we also created an affordability ranking of the 25 most-searched destinations from Vancouver based on average roundtrip airfares*. Digging through all those numbers helped us dig up a lot of interesting local insights and cost-saving information. For example, if you’re in the market for a tropical getaway, consider San Jose, Costa Rica, instead of Honolulu, Hawaii, to save ($588 vs. $661 average roundtrip airfare from Vancouver).

*All airfares are roundtrip, in Canadian dollars and include taxes.
