Sandbanks Provincial Park, Ontario
Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edwards County is a great place for families who want to camp this summer. Its three long, sandy beaches are known as some of the best in Canada (the shallow waters of Outlet beach are best for kids). Enjoy walking trails, sand dunes, and campsites that are conveniently close to the beach. Throughout the summer months the park offers educational programs for the whole family to enjoy.
Hidden Hilltop Family Campground, Nova Scotia
Located in Central Nova Scotia, Hidden Hilltop Family Campground offers many things for families do to throughout the summer. There’s an open mic night every Thursday, arts and crafts and a bouncy house for kids, horseshoes and washer toss, walking trails, mini golf, and more.
Bon Echo Provincial Park, Ontario
Families who visit Bon Echo Provincial Park can enjoy hiking trails (from one kilometer to 17 kilometers in length), a wide range of camping options depending on experience (in addition to campsites, yurts and cabins are available), three beaches and educational programs. One impressive feature of the park is a 1.5 km long sheer rock face that rises 100 metres above Mazinaw Lake and features over 260 Aboriginal pictographs.
Mount Kidd RV Park and Campground, Alberta
Mount Kidd RV Park is located in Kananaskis, Alberta, at the foot of Mount Kidd located less than two hours from Calgary. Amenities in the park include a camp store, tennis courts and hot tubs making the campground a popular spot for families. There are 229 large campsites, showers, water hookups, power hookups, picnic tables, fire pits, a wading pool and flushable toilets.
Alice Lake Provincial Park, British Columbia
This busy and popular park is surrounded by mountains, forests and grassy areas, and boasts four freshwater lakes for swimming and fishing. There is also hiking, canoeing, a fun learn to fish program, biking and something knowing as the “Bear Habitat” program, which teaches kids about black bear habitats and characteristics.
Birchwood Campground and Cabins, Prince Edward Island
This family operated park is located minutes from the Prince Edward Island ferry in Pictou County. In addition to tent sites, there are RV campsites and cabins to choose from, and on the property you’ll find a saltwater swimming pool, picnic tables, playground, fire pits, and volleyball and basketball courts. Families can also take time to explore Pictou County’s beaches, museums and historic sites
Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Parks, various locations
There are four Jellystone Parks in Canada and all are focused on creating memorable camping experiences for families. Swimming, mini golf, wagon rides, volleyball, fishing, organized family activities and playgrounds are on offer, in addition to camping and cabins. There are two parks in Ontario, one in New Brunswick and one in Nova Scotia.
