Tokyo is a place you could live in for years and not see everything there is to see. Not to mention, Japan’s capital always seems to be evolving, giving it the feel of a place that never gets old and that you could truly never get tired of.
As future-forward as Tokyo can seem, the city is steeped in history and you can find it among the skyscrapers and mega malls. The mix of old and new here is something that lends Tokyo much of its intrigue, and keeps visitors coming back. Getting around the sprawling mega-city is easy thanks to the fast, efficient public transportation system that can whisk you to the points of interest on your Tokyo itinerary. And there will be a seemingly endless array of sights, activities and restaurants you can add to your must-do and see list.
See what goes on at Tsukiji Fish Market, the world’s largest and busiest fish market (and grab a sushi breakfast from one of the sushi counters here), catch a sumo wrestling match, visit Meiji Shrine, Tokyo’s most famous Shinto shrine, take a walk across Shibuya crossing, the busy intersection outside Shibuya station, try your hand at some karaoke, and of course, enjoy some of the local specialties like ramen and yakitori – and that’s just the beginning of what you can do in Tokyo!
